Devrim Erbil × Özipek

Devrim Erbil × Özipek is an extraordinary collection born from the convergence of two enduring legacies:
one of Turkey’s most influential contemporary artists and one of its most respected masters of silk carpet weaving.

This collection is the result of a rare and historic collaboration initiated over 25 years ago, under an exclusive agreement through which 11 original works by Devrim Erbil were translated into handwoven silk masterpieces by Özipek. These works are not interpretations—they are faithful, authorized transformations of original artworks into textile form, each carrying immense artistic and cultural value.

Devrim Erbil’s unmistakable visual language—defined by rhythmic lines, architectural memory, urban density, and poetic abstraction—finds a new dimension on the loom. His cities, movements, and emotional landscapes are reimagined through silk, where line becomes texture and color becomes light.

Özipek’s role in this collaboration goes far beyond craftsmanship. Through exceptional technical mastery, patience, and artistic sensitivity, Özipek succeeds in preserving the intellectual depth, compositional complexity, and spirit of Erbil’s originals, while elevating them into timeless woven artworks.

Each piece in the Devrim Erbil × Özipek collection is:

  • handwoven with extraordinary precision,

  • produced in extremely limited numbers,

  • and intended for serious collectors, museums, and refined private collections.

These works exist at the intersection of painting and textile, modern art and traditional mastery. They are not carpets to be walked on, but artworks to be contemplated—objects of permanence in a fleeting world.

Devrim Erbil × Özipek is not a collection.
It is a cultural document.
A collaboration of permanence.
A legacy woven in silk.
